Description

These adorable sheep become living personalities when filled with your favorite greenery or flowers.  The open gridwork of the body forms a sturdy basket to contain soil plants. In the winter, try stuffing with pine branches for a seasonal decoration.

Head is fashioned out of galvanized steel for a shining contrast to the greenery.  Body and legs will develop into a rich rust patina.  Great for use indoors and out.  Stands approx. 24" tall.

How to Plant the Planter!

Plants:  Line the bottom of the body cavity with coco liner or other heavy planter liner, bringing it 6” up the sides.  Overlap as needed to conform to the shape of the body and secure with a pick or stick.  Add a piece of plastic to line the inside, then fill in with 3” of soil.  Add plants to the soil, tucking in between the ribs. Poke 4 holes through the plastic to allow for drainage then wait for your plants to grow and fill in!  Best plants to choose are bushy trailers.

Pots:  Line the bottom of the body cavity with coco liner or burlap, bringing it 8” up the sides. Secure with a pin or stick to confirm to body shape. Tuck potted plants in between the ribs. Fill the cavity between the pots with lightweight mulch.  Vines work great for this, using the planter as a topiary form.

Greens:  Cut a selection of evergreen branches to approximate 15” lengths. Save the small ends for later. Begin by putting a horizontal layer of 4 – 6 branches on the bottom of the body cavity in the front and back. Add 4 – 6 branched pushed into the top vertically. Now randomly add branches around the sides, inserting into any gaps to fill in the body shape. Use the short ends to tuck here and there as well. Lastly, use clippers to trim stray branches and ends into a body form.  Add a red bow to the neck to complete the look!  Best greens to use are spruce for a dense, full shape.
